يقوم هذا الكتاب التعريف بشعراء كبار على الساحة الفنية كأمثال \"اجماع\" و\"زوليض\" و\"يحيا بوقدير\" وغيرهم، كما ارتأى الأستاذ عصيد من خلال إصداره هذا، تكريم رواد أحواش الذين وافتهم المنية من خلال إبراز بعض قصائدهم، بالإضافة إلى التعريف بشعراء كثر يمارسون أشعارهم في الظل بمختلف لقاءات أحواش بأنواعه المتميزة وهذا الكتاب ثمرة معايشة حميمية لعينة نادرة من الشعراء على مدى أزيد من ثلاثين سنة، وسواء كانت هذه المعايشة مباشرة كما هو الشأن مع الشعراء الأحياء المعاصرين أو عبر السماع وتلقي الأخبار والجمع والتدوين لأشعار الذين توفوا منهم منذ عقود طويلة، فقد كانت تجربة غاية في المتعة.
