Overview
عشرون عاما مرت على نهاية الحرب العالمية الثانية. يعود رجل أجنبي إلى مدينة درسدن الألمانية في زيارة لصديق. ولكن بدلا من صديقه يلتقي بفتاة عشرينية تعمل في فندق جديد، ليدور حديث ليلي طويل، بين رجل قضى في تلك المدينة آخر عامين من الحرب، ونجا من القصف المدمر ومن معسكرات الاعتقال النازية، مستحضرا كل الآلام والمآسي التي عاشها، وبين فتاة من جيل ما بعد الحرب الذي لم يعرف ويلاتها ولم يختبرها، لكنه يحاول التعايش مع إرث مثقل بجرائم وفظائع الآباء.
