بوريس ليونيدوفينش باسترناك كانت وشاعر روسي ولد في 10 فبراير 1890، عرف في الغرب بروايته المؤثرة عن الإتحاد السوفيتي الدكتور جيفاكو، لكن يشتهر في بلاده كشاعر مرموق، مجموعته حياة شقيقتي تعد من أهم المجموعات الشعرية التي كتبت بالروسية في كل القرن العشرين ؛ حولت رواية دكتور زيفاغو إلى فيلم سينمائي ملحمي عام 1965م، من إخراج ديفيدلين، بطولة عمر الشريف وجولي كريستي، وقام موريس جار بتأليف موسيقاه التصويرية، حصد الفيلم خمسة جوائز أوسكار، ويعد ثامن أنجح فيلم على فيلم تايتانيك عندما تحذف معدلات التضخم وتعدل بشكل نسبي.
