رواية للكاتب البريطاني إيفلين وو، نشرت لأول مرة في عام 1934 وغالبا ما تجمع هذه الرواية مع رواياته الهزلية الساخرة المبكرة، حيث أن المؤلف كان مشهورا جدا قبل الحرب العالمية الثانية وقد كتب هذه الرواية بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية فلذا ينظر البعض لهذه الرواية على أنها عمل انتقالي نحو الأعمال الخيالية بعد الحرب. الرواية تتحدث عن مشاكل توني لاست بعد خيانة زوجته له حيث يحاول السلوان فيذهب في رحلة استكشاف في الغابة البرازيلية فيجد نفسه ألعوبة على يد مستوطن مجنون في موقع ناء من تلك الغابة.
