\"مديح لنساء العائلة\" هي الجزء الثاني من رواية \"فرس العائلة\"، يكمل فيها الكاتب محمود شقير، من خلال شخصية الراوي، سرد سيرة قبيلة العبد اللات، راصدا التبدل الذي طرأ عليها في الخمسينيات، تحت تأثير التحوّلات السياسية والاجتماعية بعد النكبة، وطفرة الحداثة وبذور الصراع التي بدأت تنمو في فلسطين ومن خلال نساء قبيلة العبد اللات، وتكريما لهن، يكتب محمد بن منان تاريخ العشيرة التي هاجرت من باديتها وتستعد اليوم لهجر بداوتها ويتحدث عن جرأة بعضهن في تخطي التقاليد وعن الأساطير التي لا يؤمن بها الجيل الأكبر منهن ويتناول الرجال أيضا، فيبحث في تبدّل مراكز القوى في العشيرة أمام ظهور مصطلحات جديدة مثل \"الديمقراطية\"، يكتب عن اشتداد قبضة الاحتلال وبزوغ أولى حركات المقاومة الفلسطينية.
