رواية \"السيد الرئيس\" من روايات الدكتاتوريات التي شاعت بين أدباء أمريكا اللاتينية مؤلفها الكاتب ميغيل آنخل أستورياس الحاصل على جائزة نوبل عام 1967 وقد استوحى أستورياس الرواية من الرئيس كابريرا الذي حكم بلاده لمدة عشرين سنة ممارسا سلطات استبدادية ويحكى فيها المؤلف كيف يدبر الرئيس المؤامرات كيما يسيطر على أعوانه ولكنه يضحي بأقرب الناس إليه حين يشعر بأقل بإدرة من الخيانة.
