يتناول الكتاب تاريخ الحضارة الإسلامية في العصور الوسطى من حيث التنظيم السياسي والمجتمع والثقافة وهي خصائص كل حضارة ونحن فى الشرق، نشعر بضرورة وجود بحث شامل يستشف الخصائص المختلفة فى حضارتنا الإسلامية ولكن إلى وقتنا هذا لا نجد كتابا يقوم على العلم الصحيح، يجمع أطراف الحضارة الإسلامية، غير ما أظهر بعض المستشرقين وهي كتب مفيدة جدا، إلا أنها لا تبرزها من وجهة النظر الشرقية، التى تستطيع تتبع مراحل الإبداع فى حضارة المسلمين.
