Overview
يتضمن الكتاب قصة تتحدث عن بيارة توارثها أصحابها أبا عن جد، توارثها الأبناء عن آبائهم والأباء عن أجدادهم، وهكذا دواليك. وحين تغزو البيارة أسراب من الجراد وتصيبها بأضرار جسيمة يفزع الجد وأبناؤه ويحزنون على ما آلت إليه بيارتهم، والذي حدث بعد ذلك من تطورات دفعت أصحاب البيارة إلى تأسيس جمعية لمكافحة الجراد، وبإرادتهم وإصرارهم تمكنوا من الانتصار على الجراد، وبالفعل نجح هؤلاء أخيرا بالقضاء على الجراد وإنقاذ البيارة من تلك الآفة. وفي ختام القصة تنتهي بأن عادت البيارة إلى الحياة من جديد، وعادت إليها الحياة. وما كان من اشجارها إلا أن عادت إلى الحياة فتورق وتزهر وتثمر من جديد، كذلك عادت الطيور لتغرد فيها، والفراشات بألوانها الجميلة أيضا عادت إلى ملاعبها بعد طول غياب، وهكذا تعم الفرحة جميع أفراد الأسرة مع إنقاذ البيارة من براثن تلك الآفة وعودتها إلى الحياة من جديد.
