يعد هذا الكتاب واحدا من الأعمال الكبيرة التى سجلت تاريخ العسكرية المصرية فى عهد محمد على جنودا وأسلحة وقلاعا وحصونا وقواعد إجرائية وقانونية صارمة لكن المحلة فى النهاية بالرغم من قسوتها كانت نموذجا للصعود ثم اللقبوط المفاجئ فى أجل من ثلاثه عقود وهى ظاهرة أمتدت من الجيش إلى الاقتصاد الى التعليم والسياسية وهذه المشروعات العملاقة قد افتقدت إلى الروح الأنسانية الواجبة كما لم يشعر المصريون وهو ينخرطون فى الجيش أو دهم يقمون الجسور ويحفرون التع انهم يبنون مستقبلهم ومستقبل أبناءهم بل شعرو وكانهم جميعا بمثابة خدم لهذا الباث القابض على كل مقاليد الامور بقبضه حديديه صارمه.
