ليس من السهل إدراك القيم المنهجية التي يستبطنها أهل حضرموت خلال تاريخهم المعاصر دون تتبع واستقراء الفعل الحضاري الذي قدمه علماؤهم ومفكروهم، ولذلك مهما حاول الكاتب أن يسطر في توصيفه لهذه القيم، فلا يستطيع أن يحقق غايته ومقصده في الإدراك القيمي لحضرموت وأهلها، ما لم يرتق إلى حقيقة هذا الإدراك من خلال أدواته وآلياته ووسائله الفكرية والعلمية، إلا أنها محاولة بحكم التجربة التي وقف عليها الكاتب خلال سنوات مضت، استطاع من خلالها الوقوف على بعض المعالم والملامح المنهجية لحضرموت ومناهجها العلمية والفكرية.
