يتحدث الدكتور إبراهيم عبدالحميد إسماعيل عن أسواق النفط التي لم تشهد منذ السبعينيات وحتى الآن استقرارا بسبب تأثر أسعار النفط بشكل مباشر بالأحداث العالمية كالنزاعات والمضاربات والشائعات والتصريحات إضافة إلى تأثرها بقوى السوق من عرض وطلب ومخزونات نفطية وعوامل أخرى مختلفة وشهدت أسواق النفط خلال العامين الماضيين تدهورا كبيرا مما أدى إلى انهيار أسعار النفط إلى مستويات لم تشهدها منذ منتصف الثمانينيات بسبب وجود فائض نفطي كبير في الأسواق يفوق حاجة السوق الفعلية وبسبب الأزمة الاقتصادية التي أصابت دول شرق وجنوب آسيا.
