مجموعة قصص قصيرة جميلة وشيقة حيث يوصف فيها المؤلف منظر الشاطئ حيث أخذ الشفق الأحمر يلون خد السماء، بخطوط قرمزية اللون وخيوط نارية امتدت شاحبة لتعانق صفحة المياه الحمراء في تلك اللجة قرب الأفق، بينما انحدر قرص الشمس الدامي، في رحلته السرمدية نحو الخلود والسكينة وزوج من طيور النورس، تصارع بأجنحتها السوداء رداء الظلمة وهي تحاول التقاط بعض الأسماك وقد رسمت في خطوط متعرجة ودوائر وهمية، بقعا سوداء أمام الكرة النارية إلا أنها غير ثابتة وفي لحظة ابتلاع اليم لذلك الأتون، نظرت إلى ذلك الجسد الملتهب، نظرت إلى ذلك الواقف بجواري إلى حد الالتماس وقد أحسست برعشة تسري كتيار جارف.
