يتكون هذا الكتاب من خمسة فصول يسلط فيها المؤلف الضوء بالتفاصيل على شخصية نوري السعيد ويضعها تحت مجهر التحليل منذ دخوله الحياة العسكرية في (إسطنبول)، مرورا بحياته السياسية ودوره العسكري في الثورة العربية عام 1916، ثم دوره السياسي المهم في العراق والذي اضطلع به متعاونا مع بريطانيا منذ تكوين الحكم الوطني بالعراق عام 1921 وحتى سقوطه قتيلا في 15 يوليو 1958.
