وقد وشح الصولي كتابه بالنصوص الأدبية والأشعار الرائعة، مما لا نظير له عند غيره من المؤرخين كما قدم باقة من شعره لا وجود له في أي مصدر آخر كما طفحت \"أوراقه\" بأسماء أعلام لا وجود لكثير منها في المصادر التي أرخت لهذه الفترة، ولما كان لهذا الكتاب كل هذه الأهمية فقد اعتنى هلال ناجي رئيس اتحاد المؤلفين والكتاب العراقيين بتحقيق هذا النص وبنشره في هذه الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا وذلك يسهل مطالعته من قبل الباحثين في التاريخ السياسي للخلفاء.
