أصبح الحديث عن تكنولوجيات جديدة في المجال الصحي، سواء تعلق الأمر بالأدوات والأساليب والمعارف الطبية، أو التقنيات المساعدة، خبر شائع في مختلف المصادر الإعلامية، وهذا ما جعل من تبني مفهوم تكنولوجيا الصحة هو التوجه المعاصر لهذه القطاع، فالحكومات على اختلافاتها تكاد تشترك في هدف واحد هو تحسين القطاع الصحي في الدولة وصحة الشعب، باعتبار هذا القطاع هو المقوم الأساسي لنجاحها، وقد رأت في التكنولوجيا الحديثة أو ما يعرف \"بتكنولوجيا الصحة\" الوسيلة الأمثل لتحقيق هذا الهدف. هذا العمل هو محاولة للبحث بشكل معمق في تكنولوجيا الصحة، من خلال التعرف على مزاياها واستخداماتها في النظام الصحي، وبالتحديد تطبيقات كل من الذكاء الاصطناعي، التكنولوجيا المساعدة وكذا الصحة الإلكترونية، دون إهمال التطرق للتحديات المختلفة التي تحد من استخدام واستغلال التكنولوجيا في القطاع الصحي.
