يعتمد تقييم البحوث على المعايير المعتمدة لجودة البحوث، وهي معايير قيمية يتم اعتمادها من قبل المجتمع العلمي. وهناك شبه إجماع بين رواد الاقتصاد الإسلامي على تدني جودة بحوث الاقتصاد الإسلامي، على الرغم من ارتفاع مؤشرات الجودة الكمية المتعارف عليها. حللت الورقة هذه الإشكالية، وأوصت بوسائل قد تؤدي إلى رفع جودة البحوث في حقل الاقتصاد الإسلامي.
