تهدف الدراسة إلى تقييم شرعية هيئة المعايير الدولية للتقارير المالية ومعاييرها. فالإشكالية الرئيسية لها تنصب على دراسة ما مدى التزام الهيئة بالأسس الشرعية في إعداد المعايير الدولية للتقارير المالية؟ وذلك بغرض إظهار أوجه قصور شرعية هيئة المعايير الدولية للتقارير المالية ومعاييرها، وخاصة أعقاب الأزمة المالية العالمية 2007- 2008 واستجابة الهيئة للأزمة ، بنيت الدراسة على الفحص والتقييم النقدي. المساهمة الرئيسية لها هي تقييم شرعية هيئة المعايير الدولية للتقارير المالية ومعاييرها وتوفير إطار تحليلي جديد للشرعية \"نموذج الشرعية.
