تضمن هذا البحث تعريف الحمد، وأنواع فواتح السور، ودراسة للسور المفتتحة بالحمد، وعددها خمس سور، مع إبراز ما فيها من معاني ودلالات، وعلاقة افتتاح السورة بالحمد بموضوعاتها، وذكر المعاني والدلالات من افتتاح السورة بالحمد مما ذكره المفسرون وأهل العلم مما له علاقة بموضوع الآية، ولقد توصلت في نتائج البحث إلى ظهور العلاقة بين الحمد في فواتح السور وموضوعاتها، وكذلك دلالة حمد الله تعالى على إثبات صفتي القدرة والعلم له سبحانه وتعالى، ودلالة حمد الله تعالى على إثبات استحقاقه تعالى للعبادة، وقدرته على البعث، وإثبات الرسالة للنبي الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم.
