يتناول المقال عرضا لجهود عدد من المجامع العلمية اللغوية والمؤسسات العربية وحتى بعض الجهود الفردية التي رافقت عملية التأليف بالعربية في ميدان الرياضيات لقطاع التعليم العالي في الوطن العربي مشتغلةً على توفير منظومة من المصطلحات في ذلك، وبهذا فالمقال يستعرض أهم ما تميزت به معاجم الرياضيات من الخصائص الإيجابية ومن النقائص ويعرض أهم الصعوبات التي اعترضت تلك المشاريع، ويسعى إلى تقديم جملة من الحلول الناجعة لتجاوز تلك الصعوبات والعقبات.
