Overview
The crusades is a new term, and only that the researchers use in the crusades studies. The other terms used rarely, those terms were used previously, as the pilgrimage to Jerusalem- the armed pilgrimage-, the holy wars, and the Frank wars. The last term was widespread in the Middle Ages, which was used by the Arab and European historians. This research is about the reasons of those terms rise and the development of their concept and use.
