هدفت الدراسة إلى اختبار السير العشوائي من خلال مؤشر السوق ISX60 لإمكانية الحكم على كفاءة السوق عند المستوى الضعيف، تم استخدام اختبار الارتباط المتسلسل (Serial Correlation Test) واختبار التكرارات (Runs Test) واختبار نسبة التباين (Variance Ratio Test) واختبار المدى المتغير (Rescaled Range Test) استنتجت الدراسة بقبول فرضيات الدراسة بان عوائد مؤشر السوق ISX60 في سوق العراق للأوراق المالية لا تتبع السير العشوائي بشكل عام ونتيجة لذلك يعد سوق العراق للأوراق المالية غير كفوء ضمن المستوى الضعيف للكفاءة وأوصت الدراسة ضرورة عمل المشرفين في سوق العراق للأوراق المالية على تفعيل كل الطرق التي من شأنها العمل على وصول المعلومات إلى جميع المستثمرين وبالتالي ترفع كفاءة سوق العراق للأوراق المالية وذلك للحيلولة دون أمكانية تحقيق عوائد غير اعتيادية من قبل بعض المستثمرين.
