Overview
يرى د. كامل مصطفى الشيبي أن الفتوة وإن ظهرت في التصوف البغدادي إلا أن تركيز صوفية إيران على هذه النزعة كان أقوى، لأن فكرة الفتوة تراث فارسي نشأ قبل الإسلام كآلية إصلاح وتخفيف من جور النظام الملكي الفارسي ، وقد استمرت بعد الفتح الإسلامي واشتدت لما استشعر بعضهم أن الفاتحين لم يكونوا نماذج حسنة للمبادئ التي ينادون بها. وتنطلق الفتوة من مبدأ الإيثار، لأن\"أصل الفتوة أن يكون العبد دائما في أمر غيره\"، إلا أنها تذهب بالإيثار بعيدا باتجاه التضحية بأقصى ما يمكن تصوره من حالات التضحية.
