يعنى البحث بتقديم قراءة جديدة للنقش التشريعي لمدينة مطرة، المعروف عند الباحثين بـ (Mafray-Qutra1)، والذي تضمن ثلاثة تنظيمات سنها شعب مطرة لتنظيم حياتهم الاجتماعية، ويركز البحث بشكل رئيس على مناقشة آراء الدارسين للتشريع وإعادة قراءة مفردات النص وتحليل دلالات معانيها ودراستها في ضوء السياق الاجتماعي العام لتاريخ الجزيرة العربية.
