Overview
يعد ولينغتون كوو من أهم الشخصيات الدبلوماسية في الصين ابان النصف الأول من القرن العشرين، إذ أدت دبلوماسيته دوراً رائداً ابان مؤتمر باريس للسلام 1919، كما أنه كان مثار جدلاً اقليمياً ودولياً، وبسبب الاعتقاد بأن الغربيون يفكرون في كوو كصيني، والصينيون يفكرون فيه كأجنبي، لكنه تمكن من إدارة الدبلوماسية الصينية وهذا جزء من فن السياسة الذي استخدمه كوو للحفاظ على حقوق بلاده السيادية واسترجاع ما فقدو منها، إذ كان قريباً من الأجانب لكي يستوعب أفكارهم ومخططاتهم وعندما يعود إلى بلاده يكون صينياً حقيقياً وينزع عنه الثوب الغربي لكي ينقل ما اكتسبه من معلومات وخبرات إلى الجانب الصيني وذلك لأن الصينيون يرفضون كل ما هو غريب عن عاداتهم وتعاليمهم.
