قدم جاك لاكان نظريته النفسية وفق التصور اللغوي حيث اعتمد في تحليلاته النفسية على اللغة بوصفها مرآة اللاوعي ،حاملا شعار \"العودة الى فرويد\" يلك العودة النظرية المهمة التي اشتهر بها لاكان و جدد آلياتها المعرفية من خلال التأكيد على منظومة اللغة في علاقتها باللاوعي و اكتشاف اهمية الدال في قيادة الوعي الذاتي للشخصية الانسانية و الخروج بنظرية جديدة اطلق عليها \"نظرية المرآة\"
