Overview
يعد زينون من رواد الفلسفة اليونانية القديمة، تحديدا المدرسة الإيلية، ويظهر أن لآراء أستاذه بارمنيدس تأثيرا هاما عليه، بالشكل الذي دفعه لمساندة أراء أستاذه بكل وسيلة ممكنة، ومنها إظهار تناقضات خصومه في ردودهم واعتراضاتهم على أستاذه، وهو ما ظهر جليا في حججه الأربع المشهورة في إنكار الحركة فضلا عن إنكار الكثرة، وما ذلك إلا لمساندة أراء أستاذه بالدرجة الأساسية، حيث لا يبدو أن لزينون أراء فلسفية ذات أهمية مخالفة لآراء أستاذه، بل هو يدور في فلك تلك الآراء مدافعا مستميتا عنها ضد الفيثاغوريين بشكل خاص.
