Overview
أصبحت قوانين الأسرة في الدول العربية محل اهتمام دولي كبير، وذلك بعد مصادقتها على العديد من مواثيق حقوق الإنسان بصفة عامة ومواثيق حقوق المرأة بصفة خاصة، ومع وجود الكثير من الأحكام التي تقوم على عدم المساواة بين الجنسين في قوانين هذه الدول، مثل أحكام القوامة الزوجية، فان هذه الدول أصبحت مطالبة بتعديل ومواءمة قوانينها مع نصوص تلك المواثيق، وذلك انطلاقا من قاعدة سمو المعاهدة على القانون.
