Overview
تناول البحث ظاهرة منتشرة في العصور المتأخرة، ولا سيما في العصر المملوكي هي (الحشيشة) نتيجة لما واجهه المجتمع من ظروف قاهرة، نتجت عنه آفة اجتماعية أساء الناس استعمالها، ولا سيما في الأوساط الشعبية (الفقراء) وأكثروا من تعاطيها لتنسيهم واقعهم المزري، لذا أراد شعراء العصر التعبير عن سخطهم ونقمهم من هذه الآفة خلال أشعارهم، فاتجهوا اتجاهين: الأول المؤيد لها لما تبعثه في نفس شاربها من نشوة ومتعة وتخرجه من واقعه المؤلم، والآخر الرافض لها لما تجلبه من أمراض وتعب وربما يؤدي بحياته إلى الموت.
