يسلط هذا البحث الضوء على دارسة موقف جريدة الجمهورية من الحرب الهندية الباكستانية التي حدثت عام ۱۹۷۱ تلك الحرب التي انتجت ولادة وتأسيس دولة بنغلادش، فضلا عن ذلك ركز هذا البحث أيضا على فهم مدى تأثير الدول الغربية على استمرار الحرب الهندية الباكستانية، لا سيما الولايات المتحدة الأميركية التي كانت ذات تأثير واضح في الحرب وكيف بينت موقفها من الجانبين المتنازعين، وكيف عملت للضغط عليهما من أجل إنهاء الحرب.
