تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز الدور التنموي للاستثمارات الوقفية في تحقيق التنمية، من خلال تجارب عالمية رائدة في الاستثمارات الوقفية وهي تجربة جامعة هارفارد الأمريكية. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن دور الاستثمارات الوقفية مهم في تحقيق التنمية بمختلف أبعادها، كما أنها لعبت دورا مهما في ريادة قطاع التعليم العالي في جامعة هارفارد الأمريكية، من خلال تسيير وإدارة الاستثمارات الوقفية داخل جامعة هارفارد بشكل جيد وإعطاء روح التنافس للمشاريع الوقفية إلى جانب تميزها بالشفافية في تسيير هذه الأموال والتخطيط الاستراتيجي لهذه الأخيرة لتطوير التعليم وترقيته في جامعة هارفارد الأمريكية.
