يتناول موضوع هذا المقال منهج الكسائي في اختيار القراءات، ابتدأ البحث بمقدمة للتعريف بالموضوع، ثم تمهيد عن الاختيار في القراءات، ثم ترجمة للإمام الكسائي، ثم دراسة معايير الاحتجاج للقراءات عنده، ثم خاتمة حوت أهم النتائج المتوصل إليها. وأكد البحث على أن منهج الكسائي في اختيار القراءات تميّز باتباع الأثر، وأن أغلب اختياراته موافقة لقراءة أهل الكوفة وهي قراءة شيوخه، إلا في بعض المواضع خالف قراءتهم واختار قراءة أهل الحجاز أو قراءة أهل البصرة، وأن أبرز المعايير التي اعتمدها في اختيار القراءات موافقة صريح خط المصاحف، وموافقة قراءة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أو قراءات الصحابة، ومراعاة الفواصل بين الآيات، ومراعاة المعنى الأكثر وضوحا.
