Overview
تعد الحقبة العثمانية في الجزائر 1518- 1830 من أصعب الحقب في التاريخ الجزائري، بسبب طمس هوية هذه الحقبة من طرف الاستعمار الفرنسي، وهو ما جعل هذه المرحلة التاريخية صعبة من حيث الدراسة، لأن الباحث فيها يفتقر إلى الوثيقة، ورغم ذلك نجح بعض المؤرخين الجزائريين الذين تناولوا حقبة الحكم العثماني في الجزائر في تدوين أحداث تاريخية مهمة، ولكن بمنهجية ذلك العصر حيث أصبح التاريخ كعلم هامشيا مقارنة بالعلوم الدينية الأخرى وظاهرة التصوف وهذا الواقع المأسوي المتعلق بالحقبة العثمانية في الجزائر جعل المؤرخين الجزائريين يقرون بحقيقة علمية صعبة، وهي أن الحقبة العثمانية في الجزائر ما زالت غير معروفة في جميع مظاهرها.
