مستجدات الدور الرقابي لعمل مجلس المحاسبة كمؤسسة دستورية، تقوم على الرقابة اللاحقة لصرف وتسيير الأموال العمومية من خلال دعم استقلالية وشفافية عمل المجلس من أجل مكافحة الفساد، والمحافظة على المال العام، بتكريس مجموعة من الضمانات تتمثل في: تعيين رئيس مجلس المحاسبة وفق لنظام العهدات، وهو ما يجعله مستقلا في أداء عمله طوال فترة عهدته، وتعزيز شفافية عمل المجلس من خلال نشر عمله أمام الرأي العام بما يسمح بممارسة الرقابة الشعبية.
