يقوم المؤلفان بدراسة ظاهرة \"الخطر المزدوج\" في مجال الخدمات المالية المتعلقة بالإقبال على القروض الخاصة. ويدلل المؤلفان على وجود هذه الظاهرة لقروض البنوك في دولة الكويت وفقا لنتائج البحث المستقاة من عينة تبلغ حوالي 700 مفردة في سوق القروض الاستهلاكية الشخصية. نلاحظ أن البنوك ذات الحصص السوقية الصغيرة ربما ستواجه مشكلات في استحواذها ومحافظتها على حصتها السوقية على المدى البعيد بدون استخدام جهود مضنية لتأمين ولاء العملاء للتغلب على ظاهرة \"الخطر المزدوج\".
