كان اختصاص أصحاب الإمام الباقر طلبة علم ومعرفة يأخذون من الإمام الروايات والأحاديث ويبثونه بين طلابهم والمجتمع لإرساء حياة اجتماعية وثقافية وفكرية خالية من الفساد وبعيدا عن الحرام وهدفهم نشر الروايات عن أهل البيت، يعد العلماء الشيعة ممن تتلمذوا على يد الإمام الباقر والذين تخرجوا على يده من خيرة أصحاب الأئمة، والذي كان لهم الدور الكبير في نشر العلم والأحاديث وكان منهم من أصحاب الإجماع وأهل الفتيا والفقه والحديث والمتكلمين والذين وردت منهم الكثير من الروايات عن أهل البيت والذين اختصوا بالإمام الباقر والإمام الصادر ورووا عنهما الشيء الكثير عن علومهما.
