Overview
This descriptive quantitative study aims to investigate the impact of online video streaming platforms on individuals' media consumption habits, focusing on usage patterns, content selection, and interaction, as well as the role of these platforms in the development of binge-watching behaviour among Algerian users. Using an online survey distributed to a sample of 110 respondents from Algeria, the study found that the use of OVS platforms has led individuals to adopt new usage patterns that align with both the digital and individual contexts of viewing. Furthermore, individuals have become more autonomous and in control of decisions regarding the content they consume and have developed new ways of interacting digitally with content. The use of these platforms also contributes to the development of binge-watching behaviour.
