Overview
شهدت لبنان منذ مطلع عام 1926 تطورات سياسية داخلية وخارجية انعكست بمجملها على سياسة بريطانيا تجاهها، إذ كان العديد من الأحداث السياسية لها أهمية كبيرة في التأثير على واقع لبنان في شتى مجالاته، فبعد صدور الدستور اللبناني الذي شكل انطلاقة مهمة في رسم خارطة التاريخ السياسي لهذا البلد اصبح التدخل البريطاني واضحا وذلك لخفت حدة التدخل الفرنسي في مناطق نفوذهم، لاسيما ازداد ذلك التنافس بشكل كبير ما بين عامي 1930-1936 من خلال التدخل البريطاني الفرنسي المباشر في قضية الانتخابات ودعم كل جهة مرشحا لها في سبيل ضمان الحفاظ على مصالحها.
