Overview
سار الفيروزآبادي في تأليفه لمعجمه على نهج جديد، لعل أبرز ما ميزه: طابع الإيجاز والاختصار، ولقد كان للاختصار في القاموس عدة مظاهر وأشكال وأهمها: 1- الرموز والاختصارات في باب العين. 2- حذف الشواهد. 3- حذف أسماء الرواة واللغويين. 4- حذف بعض الاستطرادات الموسوعية. 5- وسائل أخرى. أ- الاختصار عند عرض مؤنث المدخل بعد مذكره مباشرة. ب- الاختصار بواسطة وسائل الضبط الصوتي. ج- عدم تكرار المدخل أثناء عرض القوالب الاستعمالية. ولنا في هذا العرض تفصيل في ذلك.
