تهدف الورقة إلى دراسة نوعين من أدوات الاستثمار الاجتماعي أحداهم من أدوات التمويل الإسلامي وتسمي صكوكSRI والثانية من أدوات التمويل التقليدي وتعرف بسندات الأثر الاجتماعي SIB كما تهدف الدراسة إلى معرفة أهم الفروقات والتشابه بين هاتين الأداتين. إضافة إلى عرض آراء المناصرين والنقاد، وبعض المخاطر الكامنة، والتحديات. وأوضحت الدراسة الأساس الذي قامت عليه هذه الأدوات وهو ما يعرف بربط العوائد الخاصة للمستثمرين (الاجتماعيين) بنجاح البرامج الاجتماعية. ومدى إسهامها في تحقيق الأهداف الاجتماعية. علاوة على الحجم الفعلي المخصص حاليا للاستثمار في الاستثمارات ذات التأثير الاجتماعي في أسواق رأس المال.
