حاول البحث أن يعرف ما إذا كان نحاة الأندلس في القرن السابع الهجري، قد وظفوا استصحاب الحال في كتاباتهم النحوية، وذلك من خلال ما يقدمه من آراء لقواعد استصحاب الحال عند أحد نحاة القرن السابع الهجري المشهورين في الأندلس، وهذا من متابعة الآراء النحوية لأبي علي الشلوبين في كتابيه التوطئة وشرح المقدمة الجزولية، وقد أثبت البحث بالأدلة القاطعة، بأن نحاة الأندلس استعملوا كثيرا قواعد استصحاب الحال كاملة كما ذكرت في كتب النحاة الأوائل.
