لقد أخذ المكان خصوصيته في المخيال الصوفي لا كبقعة جغرافية محدودة بالأبعاد الفيزيقية الضيقة، بل أصبح يشكل برمزيته فضاء للاتساع والانطلاق والكمال، بل هو يتجاوز حتى نواميس المكان الطبيعي، لأنه يرجع في تحديد ماهيته وطبيعته إلى الخيال الصوفي الذي من شأنه أن يخرق عادة الأشياء في الوجود.
