Overview
بعد أن انهار سلطان المرابطين في الأندلس ظهرت في البلاد قيادات محلية، سرعان ما اختفت بعد دخول الموحدين لبلاد الأندلس. إلا أن منطقة شرقي الأندلس عرفت بعد المرابطين مرحلة تاريخية مهمة، حيث آلت إماراتها إلى ابن مردنيش، هذا الأخير الذي اختلف المؤرخون في أصله وتضاربت الآراء في كيفية توليه الإمارة. هذه الإمارة التي أثبتت سلطانه بها خلال وقت قصير، حيث اعترفت به الممالك النصرانية والإمارات الإسلامية، ومنها من تحالفت معه ولو لبعض الوقت كإمارة ابن همشك. الأمر الذي دفعه إلى الامتناع عن الدخول تحت طاعة الموحدين.
