تدور إشكالية الدراسة حول هدف رئيسي وهو الكشف عن التأصيل النظري لمفهوم نقاط التحول في ضوء منظور دورة الحياة، وذلك من خلال إجراء دراسة ميدانية على عينة من الأسر بمحافظة الفيوم، وتنتمي هذه الدراسة إلى الدراسات الوصفية، ولقد اعتمدت الباحثة على منهج دراسة الحالة، ومن ثم كان دليل المقابلة أداة لجمع البيانات، وكذلك الملاحظة، ولقد انتهت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج من أهمها ما يلي: تتنوع نقاط التحول التي تتعرض لها الأسرة في مجتمع الدراسة ما بين اجتماعية، اقتصادية، وسياسية... الخ.
