هدف البحث إلى التعرف على واقع الحوكمة الجامعية في نيوزيلندا، وحددت الدراسة عناصر الحوكمة الجامعية في الجامعات تمثلت في (النشأة والتطور، الحوكمة الجامعية: المفهوم، الأهداف، المبادئ، نظامها، هياكلها، المعوقات، وطرق تحسينها. العوامل والقوى المؤثرة على الحوكمة الجامعية)، واستخدمت الدراسة المقارنة منهج بيريداي لمقابلة هذه العناصر بدول المقارنة للوقوف على أوجه التشابه والاختلاف وتفسيرها في ضوء العوامل الثقافية ومن خلال نتائج الدراسة قدمت الدراسة تصور مقترح لتفعيل دور الحوكمة الجامعية في مصر.
