Resumen: El presente artículo se ocupa del último discurso de Salvador Allende, emitido por Radio Magallanes el 11 de septiembre de 1973. Allende se vale de la radio, espacio privilegiado de disputa política del Chile de inicios de los setenta, para enmarcar su muerte como un sacrificio político, un acto de entrega de la propia vida. Trocando simbólicamente la derrota en esperanza, su discurso difunde la promesa de un futuro donde la realidad instaurada por el golpe de Estado será revertida y así cuestiona la legitimidad del orden que este impone.
