The Role of Digital Educational Resources in Teaching: Challenges and Strategies in the Digital Age

Overview
The development of digital educational resources (DER) has achieved widespread attention, but challenges also arise during the process of implementation. This paper examines the definition, global and domestic trends, and impacts of DER. The analysis reveals the positive effects regarding the use of DER which includes the generation of positive emotions and learners’ motivation, and alleviation of learners’ cognitive load, yet it also identifies key problems such as uneven allocation on resource quality and distribution, teachers’ digital resistance in usage, poor parent-school collaboration, and lack of information security. Based on these findings, solutions are proposed, which include optimization of resource allocation regarding resource distribution, resource update, and service upgrade; empowering educational subject digitally such as training for teachers and construction of parent-school co-cultivation ecosystem; strengthening information security with technical policies and relevant measures. The goal is to optimize hardware design, enhance teacher capacity, and strengthen the subjects’ engagement to maximize the potential of digital educational resources.
