Overview
In 1964, when a group seven eminent cancer physicians decided to form the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), she was one of them. \"In those days cancer was primarily a surgical specialty\", says Professor James Holland, a medical oncologist at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York who is himself 88 years old and who knew Jane Wright throughout her working life. Wright developed treatment guidelines intended to maximise benefits while minimising adverse effects.
