In 2015, the Baltimore City Health Department implemented a law allowing a standing order of naloxone to all residents of Baltimore City and thus expanding access to naloxone. [...]if a patient were to survive an opioid overdose and while recovering in the ICU, critical care providers in Baltimore City ICUs could talk with family about having naloxone at home and, further, learn how to use it.
