Overview
Two 1-deoxynojirimycin derivatives, 1-deoxynojirimycin-6-phosphate (

) and
N
-methyl-1-deoxynojirimycin-6-phosphate (

) were isolated from an aqueous extract of Micronesian marine sponge
Lendenfeldia chondrodes
for the first time as natural products. Structures of these compounds were assigned on the basis of their spectral data and chemical degradation.
