Overview
En esta era donde la evolución social ha llevado a la humanidad a la Sociedad de la Información y el Conocimiento, el trabajo de los ingenieros informáticos consiste fundamentalmente en detectar, reconocer y resolver problemas hallando soluciones informáticas cada vez más eficaces. La formación de ingenieros en este sentido tiene una característica básica: la necesidad de crear una base lógico-matemática muy sólida, de manera que su desempeño estará regido ampliamente por una adecuada interpretación del problema y la siguiente búsqueda de la solución. Por tal razón se aborda la importancia de la Lógica Matemática y su profunda relación con la Informática, especificando su vínculo con las principales disciplinas: Base de Datos, Programación, Ingeniería de Software, Arquitectura de Computadoras e Inteligencia Artificial. Se analiza, desde el punto de vista de las ciencias que intervienen en la formación del ingeniero informático, cómo en cada una de ellas se evidencia el impacto de la Lógica Matemática.
